Book & Supper Club

Why choose between a book club and a supper club when you can have BOTH?

Story-inspired recipes are so much fun. While I didn’t include a recipe in the back of the book, I decided to create this guide instead. Get FOUR recipes from the world of Talaneamh and book club discussion questions here:

The Recipes:

Ginah Valley Meatballs

When the Cesaret family arrives in Ginah Valley, the Caliskans give them a tour, and Nourahna eats sizzling lamb kofta in the city’s market. (pages 56-57). For those like me who don’t like to grill, you can bake these meatballs instead.

Jael’s Roasted Vegetables

Before Nourahna’s appointment with the Master Gift Namer, her mother hands her a bowlful of roasted potatoes, zucchini, and peppers for breakfast. (page 67) Serve as a side dish, or, if you are like Nourahna, have leftovers for breakfast the next day.

“The Confession” Red Lentil Soup

Nourahna toys with this delicious soup when secrets spill at the dinner table (page 258). I make and freeze this soup regularly for my family. It’s easy, healthy, filling, and tastes so good! If you try any of these recipes, make it this one.

Glesni’s Apology Cake

Glesni, a gifted baker, shows up to Windrue Park holding a box of petite rosemary almond upside-down cakes with clementines (page 316). I am NOT a magically gifted baker, so I skipped the candied citrine arches in a star-like design. (Like I was going to attempt THAT) But my husband told me he’d ask for my humble version of this cake again, so I guess it’s a winner. Take that, Glesni.
